Autism (ASD) Assessment
A respectful, in-depth understanding of social communication, sensory experience and thinking styles — for children, adolescents and adults.
What it is
Autism is a natural variation in how a person experiences and connects with the world. A thorough assessment offers clarity — a respectful, in-depth understanding of social communication, sensory experiences, and patterns of thinking and behaviour — using validated, gold-standard tools within recognised, evidence-based frameworks.
For many people, an assessment is a chance to make sense of lifelong experiences and access the right support. This is especially true for adults, and for those whose presentation has been missed or masked. Our approach is neuroaffirming throughout: understanding you or your child as a whole person, strengths included.

Tools that may be used
Autism assessment brings together developmental history, structured observation or interview, and questionnaire information. We select from validated tools to suit the person's age and profile. Measures that may be used include:
Children & adolescents
Observation & interview
- ADOS-2 — Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule
- MIGDAS-2 — a sensory-based, qualitative interview framework
- ADI-R — Autism Diagnostic Interview (with a parent or carer)
Rating scales & supporting measures
- SRS-2 — Social Responsiveness Scale
- CARS-2 and the SCQ
- Sensory Profile-2, and adaptive functioning via the Vineland-3
- Screeners such as the M-CHAT-R/F and AQ-Child
Adults
Observation & interview
- ADOS-2 (Module 4) — for verbally fluent adolescents and adults
- MIGDAS-2 — adult interview guidelines
- ADI-R — where a childhood informant is available
Self-report & profiling
- SRS-2 — adult self and informant forms
- AQ — Autism Spectrum Quotient
- RAADS-R, and the CAT-Q (camouflaging traits — important for adults, especially women)
Every assessment is individually tailored. The measures used are chosen to fit the person, their age and the questions being asked — not every tool listed is used in every assessment.

Which tools do you use?
We use gold-standard, validated measures — often including the ADOS-2 and MIGDAS-2 — chosen to fit the person and their profile. The exact battery is always tailored.
Can the report be used for the NDIS?
Yes. You'll receive a comprehensive written report you can use at home, at school, at work, or to support pathways such as the NDIS.
Do I need a referral?
No referral is needed to enquire or to book. A GP, paediatrician or other clinician can refer, but it isn't required to begin.
